Georgia Trip !

This past week Ben and I went to Georgia to visit my family. This was the first time Ben was meeting my mom, step dad and lots of my extended family; it went better than I could have hoped for. The entire vacation we were busy as bees and before we knew it we were waking up on our last day there. Here's a watered down version of our trip:
Thursday we woke up early and my dad drove us to the airport. We had a connecting flight in Dallas and ate lunch. We arrived in Atlanta around 4pm and went to baggage claim were we met up with my mom and Scott and Macy. Macy is their cute little dog that I am now totally in love with. I almost took her home with me in my suit case. On the way home we stopped by GGC ( the gym where Addison trains and Allie teaches) and said hi to my sisters. When we got home we went through scrapbooks and my mom's old calendar book. It was hilarious! I'm going to go out on a limb and say my mom might have liked a boy named Dale. He he. That night we had a family cookout. Scott made his BBQ chicken and veggies and mom made her cheese-it casserole and banana pudding. Everything was delicious. I was afraid that Ben wasn't going to like it because he hates BBQ and bananas but he probably ate the most out of all of us ! We also had the pleasure of meeting Allie's work friend Grant. After dinner we ordered a movie on ppv called "Two Lovers". We ended that movie about half way through. Friday morning we got up and headed to the Georgia Aquarium. It was really cool and lots of fun. My favorite part was probably the beluga whales. They were so cute ! Ben's favorite part was the aquarium tunnel. That was super neat too ! I haven't asked them but I'm pretty sure mom and Scott loved the 3d movie about saving the animals of the sea ( ha ha just kidding ). On the upper floor of the aquarium was the Titanic museum. When you first walk in you are handed a boarding pass with a name and information about a real person that sailed on the Titanic. At the end of the museum you look on the wall and see whether you survived or not. I'm proud to say that my girl made it. Mom, Scott, and Ben were not as fortunate. After we finished at the aquarium we went to lunch downtown at The Vortex. The atmosphere was really fun and the food was terrific. That night we went with the family to a new bowling alley. It was really fun !
Saturday was my bridal shower. It was the first shower I've had and it was awesome. It was at The Tearoom in Stockbridge and it was very nice. The food was really good although I was to excited to eat much of it. My grandmother had cute little place settings and dove chocolates in a cute little bag as party favors. I received some great gifts and was super excited to show Ben when I got home. That night we went to the Roswell ghost tour. It was really interesting and lots of fun. Most of it wasn't too scary but one of the houses we came to was really freaky. Our tour lady wouldn't even get up close to it. While I was exploring Allie came up behind me and totally freaked me out. I screamed and made a fool of myself. Thanks Alls :P :). Addison had the unique experience of having one of the ghost follow her home. Fortunately we believe that it is a good ghost-we're just hoping it stays that way :P. Ha ha.Sunday morning Scott, Mom, Ben , and I went to look at foreclosed houses and apartment. Some of the houses we went in were so huge and it was really neat. We found some great little apartments for an awesome deal that are fairly close to my mom's house. Later that afternoon we went to my grandparent's house for a family dinner. It was super great to see all my family again! We ate dinner, had dessert, hung out, and watched old family movies.
Monday we went up to Helen. We were going to go on a hike up Anna Ruby Falls but after our hour and a half drive we got up there and it was closed due to construction. No worries though, we went into town and walked around and had an awesome time. We purchased a wiggly which was probably the highlight of Ben's day lol. Mom also got us our first Christmas ornament. Ben also bought an axe thingy. Afterwords when we were talking he said and I quote " I probably shouldn't have bought it but you told me not to and everybody already thinks I'm whipped". Oh my. Ha ha. After Helen we dropped Allie off at work and went to take a look inside the apartments mentioned perviously. They were so adorable ! And so affordable too ! Hopefully they'll be having that great of a deal in July. That night Allie, Addison and I went to the avenue and Allie bought me my bridal shower present at Victoria Secrets. Afterwards we went to Kroger and got ice cream sandwhiches and took them home and ordered "Ghost Town" on ppv. It was really cute what I saw of it. I think Ben and Andrew were the only ones to watch the whole movie. Mom ended up going to bed and the other two girls fell asleep before it started. Tuesday morning we got all packed up and said goodbye to all of my sibilings. We went to Lenox Mall and out to lunch at The Sundial with mom and Scott. The Sundial was so awesome. We were able to see a 360 of Atlanta and the food was excellent. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs when it came to desserts but we forced it all down because it was just that yummy :). After lunch mom and Scott took us to the airport and we said our final goodbyes. The vacation was so fun and it was great that Ben finally was able to meet my mom. We both had an amazing time and hope to be out there soon! ( Around July ;) ;) ).
Thanks mom and Scott for all you did for us and for showing us such a great time. Thank you Grandma and Aunt Jennifer for throwing the bridal shower it was so awesome. And thank you to everyone that came and for all the wonderful gifts. We'll be sending out the thank you cards shortly!
